C-SPAN Radio Availability
C-SPAN Radio is available in the Washington/Baltimore metropolitan area at 90.1 on the FM dial. Area residents can listen to C-SPAN Radio in their homes 24-hours a day, and commuters can listen to "Washington Journal" and "Today in Washington" in the morning and afternoon drive-times respectively.

C-SPAN Radio is also available on XM Satellite Radio channel 132, transmitting up to 100 radio channels of music, news, talk, sports and children's programming. Read more information on XM Radio.
HD Radio Multicasting
C-SPAN Radio 90.1 FM in the Washington/Baltimore area is now broadcasting using digital technology. This enables us to provide three channels of programming at 90.1 - it's called multicasting. If you have an HD radio you can hear:
  • 90.1 HD-1 - WCSP-FM Programming you have been hearing for 10 years, including a mix of Congressional hearings, Presidential speeches, Campaign 2008 coverage, House and Senate proceedings, the network Sunday Public Affairs programs and our unique history programs
  • 90.1 HD- 2 - Gavel-to-gavel coverage of the House of Representatives and other C-SPAN programming
  • 90.1 HD- 3 - Gavel-to-gavel coverage of the Senate and Book TV

  • Outside the Beltway presents C-SPAN Radio exclusive events featuring voices from outside of Washington providing perspectives on national issues. Outside the Beltway airs Sundays 10am - 12pm (ET).
  • American Political Archive features unique and often never before broadcast interviews and oral histories.
American Political Archive
Interesting, notable, and often unique audio from the National Archives, presidential libraries, the Smithsonian, the Library of Congress and other sources. A full listing of programs is available on our American Political Archive page. Some of our programming includes:
  • LBJ White House Tapes: C-SPAN Radio offers a different collection of President Lyndon Johnson's White House phone conversations.
  • Nixon White House Phone Calls: During the summer of 2002, American Political Archive featured the Nixon White House Phone Calls, secretly recorded phone conversations from the Oval Office and other locations. The conversations C-SPAN presented occurred between 1971 and 1973. More may be released in the future.
