Participants in these calls include Senate Republican Leader Everett Dirksen, Vice President Hubert Humphrey, Defense Secretary Robert McNamara and Supreme Court Associate Justice and Johnson adviser Abe Fortas.

Listen to a special program of some of President Johnson�s 1964 phone calls with Defense Sec. Robert McNamara, Sec. of State Dean Rusk and Nat'l Security Adviser McGeorge Bundy. Topics include presidential politics, he arrest of a top White House aide and Vietnam. LBJ also deals with criticism of the Secret Service from the commission investigating the assassination of President Kennedy.
